Bengaluru January 12, 2016: Nearly 3 lakh youth participated n the First day of 14-day long VIVEK BAND-2016 Campaign in Karnataka on Tuesday January 12, commemorating the 153rd Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda.
VIVEK BAND-2016 Campaign was simultaneously launched across the state at all districts and Taluk centres. College students, youth professionals eagerly participated in VIVEK BAND-2016 Campaign endorsing Be Good – Do Good Message.
Sri Tarun Vijay. popular columnist and Rajyasabha MP addressed Vivekananda Jayanti Program at Moodabidri, near Mangaluru in which nearly 4500 students attended.
Sri Chakravarti Sulibele, orator and promoter of Vivek Band Campaign addressed Vivekananda Jayanti Celebrations at Amrita University , Sarjapura Road, Bengaluru. He inspired the youth gathering and motivated them to pledge for the message of the campaign Be Good and Do Good.
In Bengaluru, more than 250 colleges, Vivek Band Campaign was organised by respective college managements with the participation of NGOs promoting the legacy of Swami Vivekananda.
At many places like Hubballi, Dharawada, Raichur, Koppala, Belagavi, Sirsi, Mangaluru, Shivamogga, Mysuru, Davanagere, Chtradurga, Chamarajanagara, Hasan, Tumakuru, Ramanagara, Chikkaballapura, Kolara, Kasaragod and many other places, Vivek Band Campaign received a good response. More than 5000 Small scale and large scale events held across these places.
In a mega event held at Tiptur ofTumakuru district at Govt Pre-University College, Sri Rajesh Padmar, Member of Vivek Band Campaign addressed the gathering. Noted Physician Dr Surendranath was the Chief Guest. College Principal Prof Allama Prabhu, Vice-Principal Prof KR Pushparaj, Senior faculties Prof PK Mahadevaian were on the dais. Thousands of students participated in Vivek Band Campign.
